Why Should You Submit to Citric Signals?
Accepted works will be exhibited to a virtual audience, like a film festival but with broader accessibility. Connect with others and celebrate experimental film and video. (Plus it’s free, so what do you have to lose?)
How Do You Submit to Citric Signals?
Each quarter, we will publish a new submission form for a prompt-based open-call on our social media. Fill out and submit the form, including a link to preview your work. We publish a new form for each call. Make sure the submission form you use matches the prompt you are responding to.
What are the Submission Guidelines?
Citric Signals Video Network publishes digitized film and video works that are experimental or avant-garde in nature, pushing the boundaries of form, content, or genre. Specific guidelines about running time will differ with each prompt.
What Does Citric Signals Look for in a Submission?
We welcome all kinds of experimental film and video, including essay films, animation, abstract works, film poems, found footage, experimental docs, or whatever you have! We are interested in works that have engaging aesthetic approaches, captivating subjects, and personal visions. The weirder the better!
Is There a Premiere Status or Completion Date Requirement?
No and no.
Are There Any Restrictions on Content?
Our exhibitions stream on Twitch which has restrictions on copyrighted materials, nudity, sex, and extreme gore or violence. If your work contains nudity, we will have to censor it for exhibition. (It’s sucks, we know)
Is There a Submission Fee?
Nope.
Can I Submit More Than One Film?
Artists can submit one film work per prompt. We have open calls quarterly, so if your film doesn’t quite fit the prompt, there’s always another one coming up!
